Our beloved Will joined his Redeemer at the age of 44 on February 14 with his family around him.
He was born in New Orleans to Neil Monroe and Janet Ward Marsh. He grew up in Swannanoa and graduated from A.C. Reynolds High School. He lived most recently in Summerville, SC and Hendersonville, NC.
Will was a gifted photographer and could repair any kind of electronic device. He never missed The Price Is Right if he could help it. His collection of T-shirts was an indication of his love of silly humor. He was quick to help other people and had a huge love for his family and friends.
Will's family loved him too and will miss him, including his siblings Mark, David, and Kara Monroe, along with his grandmother Barbara Ward and uncle, Bryan Ward. His brother Eric died before him. His stepfather, Fred Marsh, loved him as his own. His Uncle Dadoo (Philip Monroe) and cousins Lee and Kimberly were special to him as was nephew Joe Carney. Lauren McCollum was a wonderful companion.
Our family has no words sufficient to thank his caregivers Bill and Ruth Neugebauer and their family (including their dogs). We could not be more grateful to Four Seasons Compassion for Life for helping Will feel safe, loved, and comfortable at the end of his life.
A celebration of Will's life will take place on Saturday, February 17 at 11:30am at Harwood Home for Funerals. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 11:30am prior to the service.
"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like the shifting shadows." James 1:17

Known as "Wook" by the family, I met Will in the 1990's when he was just a teenager. He had a great sense of humor and a lasting smile for everyone. I also lived in Summerville, SC and visited "Wook" at Best Buy when possible just to check in on him. Although I am very sad with his early passing, I know he is with Christ forever. Brad and family
