William T. "Will" Gipe Jr.

William Thomas Gipe, Jr., 41, passed away on Thursday, April 6th, 2023. He was born in Louisville, KY to Mary "Terry" Teresa Gipe, and the late William Thomas Gipe, Sr. Will was a graduate of Trinity High School. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, and AA. He had a passion for volunteering, always willing to lend a helping hand to others. Will was a University of Louisville Cardinals fan, and loved to fish. Will has battled some torments and several health issues, the last a brain injury. Yet he was caring and helpful to all. He didn't grieve his life; he used his determination to make his best life, first and foremost to protect his mother and sister.
We truly find peace in knowing Will is at peace, no pain, and with his dad Bill. Emily and I know we have the best guardian angel to carry us through till we meet again.
In addition to his mother Terry, Will is survived by his sister Emily Gipe; his uncle's, J.T. Sims, Fred Sims, and Michael Sims; his cousins Trey Sims, Logan Sims, Parker Sims, Stephanie Sims, Ryan Sims, Christopher Sims, Jacob Sims, Kevin Sims, Grady Sims, and Scarlett Sims; as well as, many supportive extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father William, Sr.; and his maternal grandparents Mary Jane and Jim Sims; and his paternal grandparents Eleanor and Bill Gipe.
Private services were held at Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home, East Louisville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mass of the Air.
