I worked with Bill at Tektronix from about 1980-1991, in Purchasing. He loved bringing his car (usually a well-maintained Volvo) around front on Fridays, loading us all in, and chaufferring us up to Skyline for burgers, Village Inn, Nendel's, Plush Pippin, or one of our many other choices in Beaverton at the time. We would enjoy a great lunch, and return to the office for a quiet afternoon. Bill was always a gentleman, and I never saw him get mad except for one time when some minor executive chewed out Bill's assistant because some name tags had not arrived on time. Bill marched over to the guy's office, pulled the secretary's drawer open, and boom...there were the name tags! Bill left the guy with his jaw hanging open, and boy, he deserved it! Good times! There will never be another like him, nor another Tektronix like in those days, more's the pity. RIP. Kaye (Klepel) Rains
