William Murdock MacBride

Durham – William Murdock MacBride, 86, of Edendale Lane, Durham, died peacefully December 16, 2025 at Johnson Creek Village in Dover, NH, with his wife, Roberta at his side.

Bill was Born July 31, 1939 in Walpole, MA, the son of Arthur Sloan and Lilian (MacDonald) MacBride.

He graduated from Walpole High School in 1958 with a win as New England Hockey Champions. He continues through Colby College and Kent' Hill and graduated from Northeastern University and University of Wisconsin MBA program.

Bill served our Country as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Massachusetts US Army National Guard.

He started his Business career in Bradford Pennsylvania as a shift supervisor with Corning Glass Works, and met and married the love of his life, Roberta (Russell) MacBride. Their desire for adventure and to climb the corporate ladder inspired a wonderful and memorable life together for 57 years and friendships across the country that have lasted our lifetime.

His love for Hockey continued through attending 30 Years of Frozen Four Hockey Tournaments around the country; helping coach our son and granddaughters! He loved working the Penalty Box at UNH Hockey as well as goal judge at the Whittemore Center Arena.

Bill was predeceased by his parents and brother, Arthur Sloan MacBride ; toddler nephew Donald, and cousin, Tom Andrews.

Survivors include his wife Roberta (Russell) MacBride of Durham; son David Scott and wife Jill and family of Dover; and daughter, Colleen Ann and husband Scotty and family in Epping, NH.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 27th at 11 a.m. at the Church of St. Thomas More, 6 Madbury Road, Durham, NH. A visitation will be held prior from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. at Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home & Crematory, 77 Exeter Road (Route 108), Newmarket, NH. Burial will take place at a later date in Holy Trinity cemetery in Somersworth.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Durham, NH; Wentworth Homecare and Hospice; Alzheimer's Association; Mass Brigham and Women's Cancer Center.
