Moultrie, Georgia – William Franklin Martin, Jr., 68, of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away surrounded by family and friends, on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 PM, Friday, August 29, 2025, at Temple Baptist Church with the Reverend Caleb Davis officiating.

Born May 17, 1957, in Jacksonville, Florida, he was a son of William Franklin Martin, Sr., who survives the late Edna Mae Curry Martin.

A proud and passionate retiree of the United States Navy, he was also a tire builder with Cooper Tires. While in the Navy, he worked in construction. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, meeting people, and spending time with his family; but most of all, he had a servant’s heart, and treasured helping take care of the elderly with their transportation needs.

Survivors include his daughters, Priscilla Illian and husband Chris, and Rebecca Avery; grandchildren, Colton Illian, Maci Illian, McKenzie Illian, John David Illian, Justin Sinclair, Haley Beck, Destiny Kenney and husband, Morgan; brother, Lewis Eugene Martin; sister, Donna Bryant-Withem and husband, Ronald; as well as numerous nieces, a nephew and other extended family and friends.

He is also survived by a special friend, Mary Davis.

Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the CR Ministry at Temple Baptist Church.
