I was surprised and saddened to hear that Dr. Reese had passed away. He was an amazing man, a great support, and a wise mentor to.
Dr. Reese taught me Algebra I during his first year or two at Bonneville High School. No matter how much I misbehaved, he showed no resentment or anger toward me.
Thirty years later, I began my teaching career when he was principal at Roy High. Again, he supported me. Because I was older and wiser, I realized that his ever-so-slight smile probably meant he was holding back anger or disappointment or frustration. He was a great leader, and had a wonderful sense of humor.
After he became superintendent of the Weber County School District, he continued to give me--and all other employees--support and advise.
In his last few years, I was fortunate to move into his ward, where I again loved that smile of his.
He had a lot of qualities -- but one that continues to amaze me -- he never procrastinated. No matter how busy he was as a teacher, principal, or superintendent, he met each request immediately.
His wife Shirley agreed.
I wish I could have attended his services. I would love to have seen the children and tell them personally what a great man he was.

I was so fortunate to know Bill. He was our principal at Yamato Dependent High School in Japan. He lead by example and promoted excellence in learning.. I´ll always remember that when he and JoAnn attended our prom or Gold and Green ball, they were always the first to dance and show everyone how it´s done.
