William "Bill" Estes von Krakau, 79, of Oakley, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 17, 2025. Bill is survived by his wife of 56 years, Beverly, and their children Gina Kelly (Jason) and Brett von Krakau (Mandy). He leaves behind four beloved grandchildren, Owen and Lauren Kelly and Mia and Molly von Krakau. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Hugo and Kathleen von Krakau, brothers Joseph and Daniel, and sisters Anne and Clare. He is survived by his cherished siblings Cornelius and Kathleen.

Bill was born June 12, 1946, and was raised in San Francisco. After graduating from Balboa High School in 1964, he attended Heald College, where he studied drafting. He began his professional journey with Bechtel Corporation as a Junior Draftsman. Over the course of 18 years with the company, he held various positions and ultimately served as a Piping Engineer.

Following his time at Bechtel, Bill transitioned into the electrical engineering field, working as both an electrician and an estimator. He was also a licensed Electrical Contractor. Later, he joined the Liberty Union High School District's Maintenance Department, where he worked until his retirement.

Bill enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a San Francisco 49'er Faithful, a love he shared with his siblings. His greatest joy was his family. He was a loving and caring husband, father and "Papa". He was incredibly proud of his children and grandchildren. Bill enjoyed family get-togethers with his large extended family that includes many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral liturgy and committal will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery (2200 East 18th Street, Antioch) on October 14th at 11:00AM. A Celebration of Life reception will immediately follow the service.
