Winfred Dean Bowman

Winfred Dean Bowman, affectionately known as "Flat Top," passed away on April 5, 2025, in Randolph County, NC, at the age of 59. Born on November 29, 1965, in Richmond County, NC, Dean brought joy and laughter to those around him throughout his life. Dean worked as a dedicated pipe fitter, most recently bringing his skills and expertise to Terry's Plumbing in Asheboro. Outside of work, he found great joy in riding and working on motorcycles, and he had a passion for muscle cars that was second to none. Dean had a deep appreciation for Native American art and culture, and he shared this love with those close to him. Known for his sense of humor, he delighted in making people laugh and was renowned as a practical joker. An animal lover through and through, Dean held a special affection for horses and enjoyed both owning and riding them. Above all, Dean cherished spending time with friends, always ensuring there was never a dull moment in their company. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Dean is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Bowman, and his brother, Mitchell Bowman. He leaves behind his beloved mother, Connie Bowman of Robbins, and his cherished daughter, Chelsey Bowman of Princeton, WV. He is also survived by his sisters, Rosa Sutherland of Robbins, Christine Bowman of Ramseur, Virginia Bowman of Ramseur, Angela Bowman of Robbins, and his brother, Otis Bowman of Randleman. A service of remembrance will be held from 5pm to 8pm on Saturday May 3, 2025 at Bright Light Baptist Church in Robbins.
