Barbara Jo Ricks, 71, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 in Houston Texas after a brief illness. She was born November 30, 1945 in Baytown, Texas to Jack and Josephine Taylor. She was a proud graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown and Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. Barbara married Edwin Nathan Ricks in 1967 and they established Bushman Plant Farm and Bushman Landscaping outside Cleveland, Texas. Bushman Plant Farm still continues in operation today with ownership under Edwin Nathan Ricks II, their son.
Barbara is survived by son, Edwin Nathan Ricks II; grandson, Christopher Devin Ricks; sister, Jackie Taylor Hawkins; sister-in-law, Debra Ricks; brother-in-law, Fred Earl Ricks III; and nephews, Steven Taylor, Kyle Morse, Fred Earl Ricks IV. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Edwin; parents, Jack & Josephine Taylor; in-laws, Fred & Evelyn Ricks; and nephew, Charlie Taylor.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas.
