Sally Wilson Beard

1940 - 2022

Sally Wilson Beard passed away peacefully in Conroe, Texas on January 20, 2022 surrounded by her family.

Born in Tucson, Arizona on November 20, 1940 to James Davis and Harriett Murphy Wilson, Sally moved to Atlanta, Georgia as an infant. Sally was a graduate of Decatur High School and received her education degree from the University of Georgia. While at the University of Georgia, Sally was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority.

Sally was a school teacher and taught senior English at Conroe High School for 18 years. After teaching, Sally and Gene moved to Clemson, SC and bought Morgan's Florist which Sally managed for five years before retiring to Saint Simons Island, GA. Sally enjoyed living at the beach, visiting with friends and reliving memories of her youth while living on Saint Simons Island. Wanting to get closer to family, Sally moved back to Conroe where she spent the rest of her years. During her retirement in Conroe, Sally volunteered at the Conroe Animal Shelter spending countless hours working and caring for animals. Along with her love for animals, Sally was an equestrian and enjoyed working and training her horses. She also enjoyed the beach, playing bridge, watching college football and the Houston Astros.

Preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Eugene Beard, her parents, sister Harriett Peak and great grandson Witten Pimentel. She is survived by her children, Brandon (Jason) Spates of Roanoke, TX, Jennifer (Tim) Sanson of Conroe, TX and Bo (Whitney) Beard of Waxhaw, NC. Grandchildren Kali Spates of Houston, TX, Kendal (Scotty) Pimentel of Conroe, TX, Koy Sanson of The Woodlands, TX, Madalin Spates and fiancé JR Wagstaff of Longview, TX, Nathan Beard of Clemson, SC and Tatum Beard of Waxhaw, NC. Along with her great grandchildren, Waylon and Winnie Pimentel of Conroe, TX.

The family will have a graveside burial at Crestlawn Cemetery in Atlanta, GA this summer.
