Wanda Jean Conklin

 

Passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the age of 94 years.

The daughter of the late Pauline (Mann) and Harry Bubel was born on March 13, 1929, in Port Huron, MI.  She graduated from Marysville High School, the class of 1947.  She married John E. Conklin on September 4, 1948; he predeceased her on June 1, 2019, after 70 years of marriage.  Wanda and John moved to Saginaw in 1965.  Wanda retired from Grace Baptist Christian School after school care program after several years working as a daycare worker.   She was a member of Calvary Community Church in Saginaw.  Wanda enjoyed reading, especially the bible, knitting, spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are her children: Sandra (Bob) Bierlein, Wade (Christine) Conklin, Ann (Edwin) Hall, Diane (Donald) Miller Jr., 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, her sisters Betty Storey and Connie Jager and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  Besides her parents and husband, Wanda was predeceased by her son John E. Conkln, Jr., a great-grandson Lukius Seth Hall, two sisters: Rosalie Flint, Norma Doan and a brother, Dale Bubel.

Funeral services will take place at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Calvary Community Church, 2895 E. Moore Rd. Bridgeport, Pastor Matt Coppess will officiate with burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.  Friends may visit with the family at church on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Calvary Community Church or Alzheimer’s  Association.
