Almira Kathryn Weisert

Almira Kathryn Weisert, 90, of Nora Springs, Iowa, passed away, Tuesday May 14, 2024 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 18, 2024 Epiphany Parish – St. Joseph Catholic Church, 302 5th St SE, Mason City, Iowa with Rev. Neil Manternach as Celebrant. Burial will take place in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs, Iowa.
Visitation will be held one hour prior from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM before the Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Almira was born on March 24, 1934, the daughter of Henry and Kathryn (Kettmann) Hess of Jesup, Iowa. She was a graduate of Jesup High School. On October 24, 1953, Almira married Harold Duane Weisert, from this loving union six children were born. The couple raised their family in Northern Iowa, and eventually settled in Nora Springs in 1997. Almira spent a majority of her time focusing on her family and she would do whatever it took to keep them moving in the right direction. She also worked numerous jobs throughout the years but her most prominent was as a cook at the local nursing homes.
Almira's cooking skills always had a way of bringing everyone together. Before Harold's passing the couple would winter in southern Texas. They also enjoyed camping, dancing and playing cards. In Almira's younger years she was a part of a bowling league.
Those left to cherish memories of Almira are her children, Duane Weisert, Mike (Wendy) Weisert, Alan (Laura) Weisert, Becky (Randy) Enfield, and Bob (Mary) Weisert; son in–law, John Rottinghaus; grandchildren, Greg (Jody) Rottinghaus, Amber (Adam) Morud, Tracy (Joel Crum) Rottinghaus, Katie (Jeff) Tiedt, Bill (Sarah) Weisert, Dan (Alex) Weisert, Brandon (Morgan) Weisert, Jason (Jayde Vondrak) Weisert, Ali Rae (Cody) Gudgeon, Andrew (Katlyn) Weisert, Emilee (Wyatt) Moranville, Kaylee Enfield, Lindsey (Kyle) Bredeson, Nathan (Chloe) Weisert, and Collin Weisert; 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, other extended family members and friends.
Almira is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Weisert; daughter, LuAnn Rottinghaus; daughter in-law, Lori Weisert; grandson, Ryan Weisert; siblings, Virgil Hess, Roger Hess, and Leroy Hess; as well as many cats.
