Antonino "Nino" Basile

Antonino "Nino" Basile, aged 75, formerly of Bethlehem, peacefully passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024, in Estero, FL. He was the cherished husband of Antonina "Nina" (Leone) Basile for more than 56 years. Born in Carini, Sicily, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Maria (Giambanco) Basile.
Nino and Nina established their home in Staten Island, NY, where they raised their family before eventually settling in Bethlehem. In Bethlehem, Nino thrived as a business and restaurant owner, having been the proprietor of Pane E Vino and Mama Nina's Focacceria, among other ventures. His entrepreneurial spirit also led him to own various businesses along the west coast of Florida. During his time in New York, Nino found joy in Cafe Italia in Brooklyn, NY, and later enjoyed spending time at his coffee shop in Florida, indulging in his passion for bocce, fine cigars, and beach outings.
A proud Italian-American, Nino held his heritage dear and relished his travels to Italy. However, his greatest joy came from being with his family and doting on his grandchildren, whom he cherished deeply.
Survivors: Nino is survived by his devoted wife Nina, his daughter Maria Salomoni and her husband Greg of Easton, his son Vincent Basile and his wife Kelly of Estero, FL, and his adored grandchildren Nina Basile, Joanna Basile, Sophia Salomoni, Sonia Salomoni, Antonio Salomoni, Luca Salomoni, Olivia Basile and Anthony Basile. He is also survived by his siblings Vito Basile and his wife Rosaria of Estero, FL, Marco Basile and his wife Rosaria of Punta Gorda, FL, Sal Basile and his wife Rose of Ft. Myers, FL, and Josephine Randazzo and her husband Jack of Bethlehem, PA. He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph and his son Salvatore on July 13, 2022.
Services: A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 25, 2024, at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Relatives and friends are invited to Nino's viewing on Sunday afternoon from 3 PM to 6 PM and again on Monday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
