Barbara (Witherspoon) Gudschinsky's journey ended on the morning of July 23, 2024 where she chose Heaven as her final destination. She was greeted at heaven's gates by her mother (Dorothy Witherspoon), father (Louis Witherspoon), sister (Christine Witherspoon) and son (Michael Gudschinsky). Her family is profoundly saddened by the sudden loss.

Barbara was born in Daytona, FL on January 19, 1950. She was then raised on a crop farm in Port Austin, MI along with her sister, her only sibling. It was a generational farm that had been in the family for more than 100 years. Barbara eventually went off to college graduating from Central Michigan University with a Bachelors in Business. She then began her career with the State of Michigan unemployment office to which she retired.

Barbara married Daniel Gudschinsky December 1, 1973 just recently celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They had three children, Michael Gudschinsky who passed away at birth, Tracy Gudschinsky and Nicole Gudschinsky. They built their forever home in Bay City, MI back in 1978 where her and Dan still resided. She had two grandsons, Darien King and Kamden Johnson that she adored and spoiled. She would always request extra hugs from them.

Barbara was an extremely kind hearted soul who played the guitar, loved to cook, always trying new recipes, traveling in her camper and crafting in her spare time. For many years she sang in her church choir and assisted her husband with a charitable organization for veterans he founded 25 years ago. Every year she would buy toys, clothes and school supplies for the less fortunate. If you ever came to visit then you know as soon as you walked in the house, she would greet you and say, "Do you want something to eat?" Everyone always left with a full belly, a plate of food for later and a smile on their face.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Daniel Gudschinsky, daughters Tracy & Nicole Gudschinsky and grandsons Darien King & Kamden Johnson.

A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home (201 W. Midland Street, Bay City, MI 48706) on Saturday, September 7, 2024. Visitation will take place on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the wishes of the family.
