Dale Elwin Simmons departed this life on Monday, December 30, 2024, at the age of 71. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a dual resident of Marrero, LA and Kyle TX. Dale was employed as a sandblaster painter, and he was the owner and operator of his own trucking company until he retired. Dale was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trawling. Beloved husband of Deborah Nash Simmons. Loving father of Elese S. Hunter (Christopher), Thaddeus D. (Alisha) Simmons, Cybil S. (Thomas) Johnson, Adele S. (Will) Gould, and Kyra S. (Earl) Gooden. Son of the late James and Mildred Roche Simmons. Brother of Alida S. Blunt, Edwin, Sandra, and Gretchen Simmons, Lenora (Charles) Collins, Greta Jones, Clithia (James) Dibble, Wynn Jones, and the late James Simmons, Jr., Drucilla Thomas, Thaddeus M. Simmons, and Bridgette J. Simmons. Dale is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 1 great grand, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastor, officers, and members of St. Mary Baptist Church, Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, Mt. Calvary International Worship Center, Second Zion Baptist Church, Israel United In Christ and neighboring churches ,are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 3:00p.m. Visitation will begin at 2:00p.m. until service time at the above-named parlor.
