Darnell A. Wormley
GENEVA-Darnell Wormley, 64, was called from labor to eternal reward on Tuesday (Jan. 7, 2025) at Strong Memorial. Family and friends may call from 9 am to 10 am Fri. (Jan. 17) at Mt Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 70 Clark St., Geneva, NY. Funeral service will follow at 10 am at the church.
Darnell was born on June 29, 1960 in Rochester, NY and was a son of George T. and Annie (Andrews) Wormley Johnson. He attended Benjamin Franklin High School, Rochester, NY and went on to trade school and received many certifications as a skilled tradesman. Darnell worked for many years as a manager at Loews. He was a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworker Local #3.
He is survived by his wife Edith (Phillips) Wormley; children Sheree Howell, James Howell, Tijuana Brown, Nyamka Wormley, Cameron Young and William Hunt; siblings Betty James McNeal, James Hooks, Jr, Danny "ZZ" Wormley, Shelly R. Fowler, Sabrina Denise Wormley-McClary, Randy Wormley and Bridgette Jordan; host of grandchildren; many great grandchildren; Aunts and Uncles; goddaughter Lackawanna White-Chastine.
Darnell is predeceased by his parents George T. and Annie Wormley Johnson and stepfather Pastor Emanuel Johnson; brothers Barry Wormley, Roy Lester Hooks, Elton Johnson, Sr and Darrell Johnson.
