Darryl Wade Collins

Darryl Wade Collins, age 70, of Richmond, formerly of Lexington, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Baptist Health Richmond. He was born April 20, 1952, in Bourbon County, a son of the late Edgar D. and Alma Wade Conn Williams. Darryl attended Bryan Station High School and was a graduate of Tates Creek High School. After high school, Darryl became a member of the Army Reserves. An avid UK sports fan, Darryl was a carpenter having skilled hands, and a clear vision of any project he was working on. A follower of Christ with a big, loving heart for his fellow human beings, Darryl was baptized at Grace Baptist Church in Lexington. He always helped others in need, no matter their circumstances, and could see the good in everyone. With his quick wit, Darryl will be remembered for wearing his tie-dyed t-shirts, and his love for attending yard sales where he was known for having a "good eye for good buys", and his affection for his four German Shepherds, Rosalita, Zevon, Junior, and Abby. He is survived by: his special friend, Susan Moberly of Richmond; three brothers, Michael Collins, Jerry Williams, and Greg (Valerie) Williams, all of Lexington; nephews and nieces, Chris (Mischa) Collins, Dayna (Maneesh) Mohan, Leslie (Shawn) Netherly, Ella Williams, Teddy Williams, and Rose Williams; and a host of cousins and friends. Funeral services will be 12:30 pm Monday, April 17, 2023, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Harrodsburg Rd. Visitation will be 4-7 pm Sunday, April 16th at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to the Humane Society A.L.L. of Madison County, P.O. Box 2094, Richmond, KY 40476-2094.
