1926-2021

David Jasper Kearl III, 94, passed away on April 6, 2021. David was born on May 8, 1926 to David Jasper Kearl II and Mary Zenora Jones in Laketown, Rich County, Utah.

He attended Laketown Elementary School and North Rich High School. He was active in athletics and the LDS Church. At the end of the school year in 1942 his family moved to Ogden to support the WWII effort. There, he graduated from Ogden High School, where he was on the Deans Academic List. David enrolled in the ROTC program, achieving the rank of Captain, and was named Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding Officer.

In December 1943, David enlisted in Aviation Cadet Pilot training and served until November 1945. Due to his ROTC experience and record, he was designated as a Flight Leader through ground school. He attended Weber Jr. College for two years.

On October 10, 1952, he married Alois Gibby, daughter of Alma Gibby and Eva Nora Whitear. In September of 1958, they were sealed for Time and Eternity in the LDS Temple.

After his Army Air Corp service the major portion of his time was in the grocery business as Assistant Manager at Homers Market in Clearfield. He then managed stores for American Foods, Mayfair and Macey's, plus positions in the wholesale dairy business with Cream 'O' Weber, later known as WDCI. He retired in 1988 as Credit Manager.

David was a member of the Roy Junior Chamber of Commerce and Optimist Club.

He is survived by 2 sons, Dave of Farmington and Brad of Bountiful; 3 daughters, Teri of Farmington, Dana of Syracuse and Mareva (Steven Gardner) of Kaysville; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beautiful and musically talented wife, Alois, a son, Whitear Gibby, five brothers: David Randall, Theo Jones, Golden Radcliff, Carl Rosslyn and Udell Fielding Kearl, and a great-grandson, Carter Stair.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 12, 2021 at Bountiful City Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. Bountiful, UT., from 12:30-1:30 p.m. prior to the service.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to the Hearts for Hospice Team, for their tender and loving care in his home for the last nine months. A special thanks to his musical therapist, Camille Savage.

Where can I start.....I guess remembering babysitting Uncle Dave's children in their Clearfield home. Then on to working with him during my teenage years at Homer's Market....he made life fun!! What a reunion must be happening in Heaven with his wife and family.
