The Detroit, MI native was the son of the late William Maxwell and Helen Sawzinski Ettlinger. He was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Maxwell and one sister Cecilia Beavins.
David was veteran of the United States Army serving his country in Vietnam, a member of the VFW Post 1298 in Bowling Green, and was retired from DESA International.
David is survived by his wife, Debra Jane Todd Maxwell, one son, Joe Maxwell, two daughters, Kathy Maxwell and Dawn Laczynski (Kenny), five grandchildren, Emalea, Joseph, Keaton and Kyra Maxwell and Mary Shaw, one great-granddaughter, Amaya Bratcher, one brother Alexander Maxwell (Sandra), several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM Thursday May 19, 2022 and 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM Friday May 20, 2022 at the J. C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM Friday, burial with Military Funeral Honors will follow in the Bowling Green Gardens.
