David Carl "Dave" Strieder, age 70 years young, of Jamestown, NY passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024 at home under the care of hospice surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Erie on October 11, 1953, son of the late William and Virginia Parmenter Strieder.
Dave was a graduate of Edinboro University and a brother to the Theta Chi Fraternity. He worked for Supply Technologies for 41 years until his retirement in 2019. Dave spent many years involved in Boy Scouts of America. He was an Eagle Scout and was a recipient of the Order of the Arrow. Dave was also a Scout Master and was instrumental in starting Troop 144 in Jamestown, NY.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Ronda Strieder; three sisters, Maryanne Giorgano, Patricia Foley and Nancy Haupt (Dean); two brothers, William (Mary) and Fred (Pat Lanning) Strieder; one daughter, Shawna DeAngelo (Michael); two sons, Terry and Eric (Emily Gustafson) Strieder; four beautiful grandchildren, Emmett, Evan and Evie Strieder and Michael DeAngelo Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Sam Giorgano.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Road, on Monday, July 15th, from 3 to 8 pm. Further visitation will be held at Holy Rosary R.C. Church, 2701 East Avenue on Tuesday, July 16th, from 10 am until the time of the Funeral Mass there at 11 am. Interment will follow at Waterford Cemetery.
