David Syfrett Obituary
David Lee Syfrett, a man of unwavering dedication and profound compassion, passed away on October 27, 2023, at the age of 33. Born and raised in Destin, Florida, David developed a deep-rooted connection to his community and a strong sense of civic responsibility. His commitment to serving others was evident from an early age, as he actively participated in Scouting, attaining the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout and receiving the esteemed Vigil Honor in the Order of the Arrow. David's dedication to Scouting extended beyond his youth, as he continued to serve as an Assistant Scoutmaster in adulthood, mentoring and guiding countless young individuals.
After graduating from Northwest Florida State College in 2015, David embarked on a fulfilling career with the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), driven by an unwavering desire to support the men and women of the armed forces. His nine years of service at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona, and Hurlburt Field, Florida, were marked by exceptional dedication and a genuine commitment to excellence. David consistently exceeded expectations, going above and beyond to ensure the well-being and satisfaction of those he served. His unwavering professionalism and compassionate approach earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and customers alike.
David's passion for exploration extended beyond his professional endeavors. He was an avid traveler who embraced the opportunity to experience the diverse landscapes and cultures of the United States. His insatiable curiosity led him to venture across the country, immersing himself in the unique customs, traditions, and natural beauty of each region. David's travels were not merely about sightseeing; they were about connecting with people, understanding different perspectives, and broadening his horizons.
A lifelong learner, David possessed an insatiable thirst for knowledge. David's love of learning inspired those around him to pursue their own intellectual passions.
David's passing has left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew and loved him. He was a cherished son, brother, husband, and friend. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering support touched the lives of countless individuals, creating a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire others.
While words cannot adequately express the depth of our sorrow, we find solace in the knowledge that David lived a life of purpose, dedication, and unwavering love. His absence will be deeply felt, but his memory will forever remain a beacon of light in our lives. We are forever grateful for the privilege of having him in our lives.
David is survived by his parents: Paula and Rodney Syfrett, his two brothers: Paul and Daniel Syfrett, and husband, Alexander Rumfelt. The memorial service will be limited to close family members. We appreciate your understanding and respect for our privacy during this difficult time.
David's impacted people from across the globe and it has been challenging to reach out to all that knew him. Please, if you require and information, contact us at [email protected]
