Edward Morrow

Edward Morrow was born January 16, 1958 to Leslie and Martha (Juanita) Morrow, and raised in Modesto, CA. He attended school in the greater Modesto area and graduated high school at Elk Grove High School in 1975. Ed often loved to play jokes on others and make them laugh. Ed's sister Melinda often told stories of Ed making itching powder from the Sycamore tree in the backyard and said that he would drop it down the back of her shirt. Upon graduation, Ed used his experience of growing up on a ranch to work at Cal-Vegetable and Leed's Shoe stores before working for Pan Can providing quality control and driving a forklift. Ed also spent several years as a welder and job site foreman on larger projects. Some of the companies he worked for include NMI Contractors, Monterey Mechanical, and HMI Industrial Contractors. Edward was very generous, loved his family, and always loved to laugh. At Christmas, Ed loved to package presents in multiple boxes and laugh at the recipient's attempts to get the gift open. Ed spent his retirement years devoted to his mother and caring for her once she became unable to care for herself. He made multiple trips to her house daily, cooking for her and bringing her meals. He visited her daily as well as managed her health care, provided transportation for appointments, did her shopping for her, and took care of handyman things around the house, often switching out pictures on the walls at her request. This care continued through the last months and final days of Ed's life, as he bravely battled cancer.
Ed was a motorcycle enthusiast and he would sneak off every once in a great while to go fishing or golfing, when his mother's health and assistance with her care permitted. Ed is survived by his mother Martha Juanita Morrow, nephew Christopher (Tamara); niece Melicety (Michael); grand-nephews/nieces Steven, Bryan, Jonathon (Victoria, Ariya) and Matthew; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Leslie, and his sister, Melinda. Ed passed at home peacefully in his bed after an ongoing battle with lung cancer. Funeral services and a celebration of life will be held at Franklin and Downs Funeral Home, Modesto, CA June 20th, 2025 from 4pm to 7pm.
