It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of a beautiful soul. Elaine passed away on 4-14-2023 at Androscoggin Hospice House with family by her side.
She fought a long, brave battle with cancer. She was 54, born February 1, 1969 in Lewiston, Maine to Gerard and Doris Deraps. She was the sixth of eight children. She attended and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1987.
In 1997, she met her fiance Scott Lagasse, and got engaged in 2022. Elaine enjoyed singing karaoke with her fiance, family and friends, Line dancing at Mixers, and shopping. She always found the best deals, and loved going on vacation with family.
Elaine is survived by her fiance Scott Lagasse, her daughters Cassiy and husband Manly Lagasse-Church, Teliah Montreuil and her grandson soon to arrive in August, Easton Scott Tao-Montreuil. Her siblings: Diane Gendron, Denise and Paul Morin, Lise Shorette, Ronald Deraps, Marc Deraps, Pierre Deraps and Jennifer Lassard, and her father Gerard Deraps, 19 nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her mother Doris Deraps, sister Jolline Soule and brother in law Sylvain (Frenchy) Gendron.
Those who wish to make memorial donations can do so in her memory to : The Dempsey Center, 29 Lowell Street, Lewiston, ME 04240. There will be a visitation at Funeral Alternatives, 25 Tampa Street, Lewiston on Thursday, April 27 from 4-6 p.m.
