Floyd Lynn Blades, devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather, passed away the evening of August 17, 2023. He was 79 years old.
Born February 24, 1944 in Rush Springs, OK to Floyd Toledo and La Vota Blades, Lynn graduated from Rush Springs High School in Rush Springs, OK, and then joined the U.S. Navy on August 31, 1962. While on leave from the service for 3 days in Nov. of 1965, he came back to Rush Springs and married Marilyn, shortly after, they moved to Northfork, Virginia to complete his years in service. He served for 4 years on board the USS Redfin and Destroyer vessel USS Waller.
Lynn and Marilyn went on to have their 3 children, Bobby, Julie, and Christie; and in 1973, settled in McLoud, OK, where Marilyn still resides. After his service he worked at Demco for 15 years, then Sam's Club for 5 years, then finally retired from KF Industries in 2006.
Lynn enjoyed watching golf, M.A.S.H., and Jeopardy; and reading Westerns and Adventure Mystery novels, especially novels by his favorite author Clive Cussler. He also loved to go fishing and working with Bobby to bail hay and raise cows. He loved telling stories to his grandkids about him and his cousins' adventures when they were young, along with teasing them that if they ate too much candy they would lose their teeth like he did and then would pull them out to be silly. Lynn will be missed dearly and will forever be with us in our memories and hearts.
Lynn is preceded in death by his father, Toledo Blades; his mother, La Vota Blades; his son, Robert Blades, and numerous family members and friends.
He is survived by his Wife, Marilyn Sue Blades of the home; his daughters, Julie Warden of Oklahoma City, OK and Christie Brown of McLoud, OK; daughter-in-law, Jamie Blades of Edmond, OK; his sister, Lue Alva Wright of Cox City, OK; his grandchildren, Lindsye, Chris, Katherine, Cody, Vincent, Autumn, Josh, and Hope; his great grandchildren, Eli, Tayleigh, Averi, Kenzi, Mazie, Stetson, and Aurora; and Betty Hill and Family of San Diego, California.
We want to thank all of the doctors, nurses, family, friends and neighbors for their support and help while taking care of Lynn in his final days.
