George Louis Titzer, 89, of Evansville, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Hamilton Pointe in Newburgh.
George was born on March 5, 1935 in Evansville to the late Albert John and Millie (Wood) Titzer. He worked at Bristol Myers in refrigeration maintenance before retiring. George was an active member of Resurrection Catholic Church; a member of the Riverbend Association and enjoyed camping. He was also a member of the Owensboro Model A Car Club and Columbus Model A Car Club and enjoyed taking car rides with his wife Verna.
Surviving George are his daughter and son in law, Deborah and Randy Hempfling; grandchildren, Tyler and Marisa Hempfling; daughter, Cathy Cummings; sisters, Elizabeth Scheller, Mary Ann (Don) Scheu and Cathy (Glen) Mellot and one brother, Ralph (Shirley) Titzer.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Verna (Paul) Titzer in 2015; by a sister, Martha Shivers and by brothers, Joseph and Carl Titzer.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Resurrection Catholic Church, Rev. Jerry Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Thursday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street and from 9:30 AM until service time on Friday at Resurrection Catholic Church, 5301 New Harmony Road.
Memorial contributions may be made to Resurrection Catholic Church, 5301 New Harmony Road, Evansville, IN 47720.
