Gordon S. Osborne passed away on August 16, 2025, returning to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father. Born on May 31, 1941, in Ogden Utah, he was a beloved spiritual leader, dedicated educator, and devoted family man.
Gordon's journey through life was marked by his unwavering dedication to serving others and sharing the teachings of Christ. He was a proud graduate of Weber High School in 1959 and later graduated from Weber State College where he earned his degree in Math Education. Gordon's commitment to education was profound as he shared his passion for learning as a teacher at Roy Junior High and the Weber Job Corps, inspiring countless young minds with his love for mathematics and life. He also enjoyed sharing his love for woodworking with those around him.
His achievements were many, including a full time LDS mission to the Netherlands in the early 60's, where he served faithfully. As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gordon faithfully served in other various callings. His active involvement in scouting through the Church showcased his profound commitment to guiding the youth, instilling values and life lessons that would be cherished for generations to come. His life was a testimony of faith through trials and tribulations, Gordon remained steadfast in his beliefs, embodying the virtues of love, compassion, and service.
One of the crowning joys of Gordon's life was his marriage to Glenna Johnson in the Logan Utah Temple on March 17, 1967. The foundation of their marriage was that of love and spirituality and their beautiful union was an example to all who knew them.
Gordon nurtured their two children, Ken and Tina, with the same love and faith that had been instilled in him. He embraced the role of a guiding figure, always seeking to impart wisdom and strength to his children.
Gordon's family also includes his cherished siblings: Linda Heslop and her husband Terry, Kaylene Bauer and her husband Larry, and Gerri Goralski and her husband Steve. They stand united in honoring the legacy he leaves behind. The warmth of his spirit will be missed but fondly remembered by his dear nieces - Wendy, Lori, Jayme, Lisa, Lindsay, Jackie, Candace - and his nephew, Travis, who each carry a piece of Gordon's heart in theirs.
In his final days, Gordon was surrounded by the compassionate care provided by Bree and the Hospice nursing staff as well as those providing care at Lotus Park assisted living, whose kindness helped him and his family through his last days
Although he is no longer with us physically, Gordon's spirit continues to carry forth in the loving actions and memories of family and friends. We rejoice in the knowledge that he is at peace and together with his eternal companion. May we all strive to reflect the light he shared with the world.
A graveside service will be held at Leavitt's Mortuary and Aultorest Memorial Park on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 10 AM with a viewing being held beforehand at 9:30 AM.
