Colonel Jack Gale Davis, USMC (Ret.)
March 13, 1950 – June 2, 2025
Colonel Jack Gale Davis, 75, of
Milton, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025.
A devoted husband, beloved father and grandfather, decorated Marine, and faithful Christian, Jack's life was a testament to service, wisdom, and love.
Born on March 13, 1950, in Canton, Oklahoma, and reared in Plainview, Texas, Jack devoted 31 years of honorable and distinguished service to the United States Marine Corps, achieving the rank of Colonel. His military career was marked by valor, leadership, and excellence, reflected in his numerous awards and commendations, including the Bronze Star Medal, Legion of Merit, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (x3), and both the Kuwait Liberation Medals (Saudi Arabia and Kuwait), among many others.
Beyond his remarkable military service, Jack held a Master's Degree and was a passionate student of history, politics, and above all, Scripture. He loved reading, watching military and historical documentaries, and was deeply engaged in thoughtful conversations-often centered around his faith and the complexities of the world around him.
Jack was a devoted member of Margaret Street Church of Christ, in Milton, where he joyfully taught Bible classes and built meaningful relationships rooted in faith. His love for the Lord guided every aspect of his life, and his quiet strength and wisdom touched all who knew him. Jack's greatest joy was his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sherry Elaine Love Davis; his son, Justin Gale Davis, and daughter-in-law, Sarah Brooke Davis-whom Jack loved as his youngest daughter and "special angel"; his daughter, Amy Faye Davis Napier-undeniably her father's daughter, with whom he shared a quiet, unspoken bond; he was "her person," and she his. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Brett Alan Napier. Jack was a proud and loving grandfather to Jackson Eli Davis, Landon Brooks Davis, Macy Jayne Davis, Ayla Grace Napier, Avie Love Napier, and Ainsley Gale Napier.
He is also survived by his siblings, Gary Eldon Davis, John Ray Davis, Glenda Davis Ramsower, Tommy Lee Davis, and Brenda Faye Davis-each of whom he cherished deeply.
A man of principle, humility, and deep faith, Jack will be remembered not only for his service to his country but also for his steadfast love for his family, his integrity, and his devotion to God. Colonel Davis will be privately commemorated with full military honors at Barrancas National Cemetery, where a memorial headstone will stand in tribute to his legacy of service, faith, and devotion. Semper Fidelis.
