Jackson Despres Obituary

Born in Providence, a son of the late John P. "Jack" and Olga (Zachadnyk) Despres. Jackson had graduated from Moses Brown School in Providence, RI, class of 1966 and had graduated from Roanoke College, Salem, VA, class of 1970.
Jackson was the owner of Smithfield Peat Company, Inc., and affiliated development companies. Prior to his passing, Jackson wished to express his profound gratitude to his dedicated staff.
Jackson is survived by his wife and soulmate, Nanci, his daughter Whitney Clavet and her husband, Darin of Greenville and his daughter Elizabeth Czerwein of Clayville. He was the grandfather of Logan, Reed, Mallory, Gwendolyn, Peyton and Remington.

In the autumn of 1962, as a new and almost overwhelmed student at Moses Brown School, the boy sitting behind me in study hall, Jackson, tapped me on my shoulder and assured me, "Don´t worry, kid. I´ll help you get through this!" He never let me down...ever.

Nanci,
We send our sincere condolences to you and your family. We we Olga's neighbors for years, and Jackson frequently included us in your family gatherings. Though we have not seen him in several years, we will always remember him for how well he treated his parents, and us. You all will be in our thoughts and prayers.
