Memorial Graveside Services for James Richard Lawn, 81 of West Monroe, LA will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at the Northeast Louisiana Veteran’s Cemetery, Rayville, LA with Rev. Ron Volmar and Rev Doug Musgrove officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
James Richard Lawn passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was a direct descendant of Daniel Boone. James was a member of the Calmes Society of Versailles founded in Versailles, KY where he was the secretary-treasurer and on the Board of Directors. He was a long-time employee of Ford, Bacon & Davis of Monroe, LA. and numerous field offices in the United States and also, Vice President of ABL Land Services.
Jimbo, as he is affectioned known, was a graduate of West Monroe High School 1962 and regularly attended the Rebel Lunch Bunch at Johnny’s Pizza. He was an avid LSU fan where he attended many games with his grandsons, including many LSU Championship games. It is requested that at his memorial service, guests wear LSU colors.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jessica Latham Lawn and George Murry Lawn, Sr.; brother, Sand (George Murry, Jr.) Lawn; and brother-in-law, Rusty Owens.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Alta Beasley Lawn; daughter, Ashley Lawn Treadway and husband Wes; two grandsons, Cooper Latham Lawn Treadway and Casey James Lawn Treadway; two sisters, Diana Lawn Owens of West Monroe, LA, and Kathy Lawn Volmar and brother-in-law, Rev. Ron Volmar of Mer Rouge, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rebel Lunch Bunch Scholarship Fund in his honor.
