James A. "Jim" Maibach, 77, of Bay View, formerly of Wooster, died Thursday, September 19, 2024, at his residence with his loving wife and family by his side. He was born December 9, 1946, in Lodi to Robert and Velma Jean (Garrison) Maibach. Jim grew up in Sterling and graduated from Norwayne High School. He was married to the love of his life, Melissa, and was a deeply devoted father to Stacey, Chad, and Joseph, always encouraging them with his unwavering love and support. His commitment to family was evident in everything he did, and he found true joy in spending time with his loved ones. Jim will be deeply missed by his family and vast circle of friends, all of whom were drawn to his fun-loving, kind, and generous spirit.
As well as his dedication to family and friends, he had a passion for his 1931 Plymouth Coupe he purchased after graduating high school. Over the years, he spent countless hours working on and enjoying his hotrod. He took remarkable pride in his car, traveling with his wife and friends to car shows and vacations. He was also an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes.
In addition to his wife, Melissa (Guyer) Jim is survived by daughter, Stacey (Randy) Stamitoles; sons, Chad (Audrey) Maibach, and Joseph Maibach; grandchildren, Tyler Stamitoles and Spencer Stamitoles; great-grandchildren, Gwen, Stevie Rae, Greysen, and another great grandson expected to join the family in February 2025; sisters, Patti Leohr, Virginia Hahn, Sally (Tom) Brokken, Sue (Barry) Schaad, Connie Sims, Marilyn Slater, Janie (Steve) Burgan; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; stepfather, Ken Miller; infant brother, Danny; brother, Robert (Bob) Maibach; sisters, Kathy Iceman and Robin Maibach; brothers-in-law, Phil Hahn, Ron Sims, and Tracy Slater; grandson, Corey Stamitoles; and special friends, Woody Hayes and Earle Bruce.
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated healthcare team at DaVita of Sandusky for their compassionate care and support during Jim's illness. Your kindness and professionalism made a profound difference in our journey.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, September 27, 2024, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Parker Funeral Home, 202 E Main St, Spencer, OH 44275. Feel free to wear your Scarlet and Gray. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio at https://kfnwo.org/
