James Enoch Maloy, 94, of Bartlesville, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, July 1, 2025 surrounded by his wife and family.
James( Jim) was born the son of John Enoch and Maude (Coon) Maloy on January 7, 1931, in Avant, OK. He was raised in rural Avant and graduated from Avant High School in 1949. Jim went on to further his education at Central State College where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Arts. It was during this time that he met his future wife, Mary Nadine Troxel. They were united in marriage on November 14, 1953.
After college, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Augusta, Georgia. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Corporal.
Jim worked several years as a design draftsman at The Boeing Company and was actively involved in small parts design for the 737 and 747 aircrafts. While working for Lockheed Martin he was on the design team for the Apollo 11.
Jim farmed for many years near Howard, KS, raising cows, pigs and several different crops. He always had a huge garden and was interested in experimenting with new varieties of fruit trees and other types of plants.
Jim and Nadine retired from farming in 1998; moving to Bartlesville. They spent their winters near Alamo, Texas. He taught himself to play the fiddle and they enjoyed attending jam sessions.
Most of all Jim loved the Lord, and wherever they lived they attended church. Over the years he taught Sunday school and relied on the Bible for guidance. He loved to study and learn new things. He was kind and compassionate. His daughters remarked that "Dad was quiet but when he spoke, people listened". He will be dearly missed.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Nadine; daughters Cheryl (Michael) Stom and Karen (Gary) Briggs; four grandchildren, Tyler (Jess) Stom, Hannah Stom, Eryn (Cody) Rathmell and Brittany (Cris) Coronado; three great-grandchildren, Derrick, Chloe and Emlen James and one on the way and his brother, Bill Maloy of Skiatook. He is preceded in death by his parents John Enoch (Nux) and Maude Elmira and sister, Donna Stone.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2025 from 1pm-5pm at Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Journey Home, care of James Maloy, 900 NE Washington Blvd., Bartlesville, OK 74006.
Services will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025 at 10 a.m., at the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel. Interment will follow in the Hillside Mission Cemetery near Skiatook, OK. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel.
