Jared Ryan Patterson, 25, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 6, 2022. He is now with our loving Father in Heaven and his family and friends will miss him dearly. Born December 14, 1996, he was the eldest son of Ted and Angie Patterson of Charlotte, NC. Jared graduated from South Mecklenburg High School, where he lettered in Basketball and then he earned a B.S.B.A. Degree in Operations and Supply Chain Management from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2019. While at UNC Charlotte, he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. Jared was employed by Duke Energy in Charlotte, NC, as a Sourcing Specialist, in the Supply Chain Management Organization. He really enjoyed his work and all the people he worked with.
Jared loved God, his family, living life, all types of sports and the family cocker spaniel Copper. He especially loved college football and basketball along with all professional sports. Though he was a Charlotte 49ners, his favorite college team was the North Carolina Tar Heels ("Go Heels") and of course, Jared was an avid Carolina Panthers fan. Jared relished gathering scouting information around high school players being recruited by colleges and could tell you how talented any player was coming out of high school and about college players being drafted by the Pros. He had a passion for the NFL and NBA drafts. He always said, "I could be an NFL or NBA General Manger for the Panthers or the Hornets because I know the college players better than they do". He also enjoyed being involved in Fantasy Football with his buddies and he helped them by providing them with scouting information about the players.
Jared was a great son, and a good athlete starting from the time he could first hold a ball in his little hands. He enjoyed playing multiple sports and was pretty good at everything he played. Jared had a tight nit group of buddies (they all know who they are) that he loved spending time with, and he will be missed by them all. He enjoyed discussing current events and had a passion around debating the politics of the day. Though his life was cut way too short, the memories and love he created with his family and friends will live on forever. We are blessed to have had Jared in our lives. He may be gone but will never be forgotten.
Jared is survived by his loving parents Ted and Angie Patterson, his brother that he cared for dearly Spencer of Charlotte, NC, his precious baby niece Charli (Maddie), Aunt Patti Patterson of Lexington, SC, Uncle Russ Patterson of Rock Hill, SC, cousin Doug Patterson of Rock Hill, SC, Aunt Debbie Tamson of Charlotte, NC, cousins Brad Houser (wife Devin and daughter Chloe) of Concord, NC, and Melissia Houser Biggers (husband Scott and sons Justin and Arron) of Mt Holly, NC. He is preceded in death by his Grandparents James R. Patterson and Marylin R. Patterson, Raymond Peterson (wife Dorothy), Shirley Vance Bishop and his Uncle Tim Patterson.
A memorial service celebrating Jared's life will be on held on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 2pm, at Park Road Baptist Church, 3900 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28209, followed by a visitation at the Church. Pastors Amy and Russ Dean will preside over the service.
From John Chapter 11: I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live even though they die, and whoever lives by believing in me shall never die.
