John S. Fassbinder, age 63 of Hudson, WI, passed away at his home with his family by his side after a courageous four-year battle with pancreatic cancer. John was born in West Bend, WI, to parents George and Corliss (Dekker) Fassbinder. He graduated from West Bend East High School with the class of 1977, and later attended WI Indianhead Technical Institute where he learned carpentry and graduated in 1983. John enjoyed a successful career which included residential home building, commercial construction, and site safety management. His last stop was the cabinet shop at Starkey Laboratories, where he retired in the Fall of 2016.
John married the love of his life, Maureen Ruemmele, in 1987, and together they were blessed with two daughters Molly and Jenny.
He loved to spend time with his friends and family, even better if it was up at the family cabin in Cumberland, WI. John favored the outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, or golfing. He was a passionate bow hunter during the Fall deer season and loved getting out on the ice in winter with his tip-ups and high hopes for another world record walleye. John's many friends can attest to his enthusiasm, quick wit and generous nature no matter what the activity.
John will remain in the hearts of his wife of 35 years Maureen; daughters Molly (David) Stein of Pepin, WI and Jenny (Joe) Albrecht of La Crosse WI, brother Jeff Fassbinder of Longmont, Colorado; and many other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law Cherie Fassbinder and father-in-law Jim Ruemmele.
A Memorial Service for John will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Parish. Visitation will be from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M. with Mass starting at 11:00 A.M. For those unable to attend, his service will be live-streamed through the church's Facebook page. Memorials are preferred to the family.
