Judith Theresa Norrington

Judith "Judy" Theresa (Tempel) Norrington, 82, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.
Judy was born in Evansville, Indiana on March 9, 1942 to the late Edward and Henrietta (Klass) Tempel. She graduated from Memorial High School in 1960 and received her associates degree from the University of Evansville. Judy started working at Creative Press when she was eighteen years old as a switch-board operator and went on to work there for 47 years, retiring as vice-president. She also worked as a realtor with her husband, Jeff. Judy and Jeff traveled the world with their friends, Harold and Sharon Griese and Joe and Susan King. They had many adventures and especially enjoyed their many trips to Europe and dancing at the Eagles. She was a talented fisherman, seamstress and loved to play and watch tennis along with playing bridge weekly with her friends. Above all, Judy will be remembered for her love for her family.
Judy is survived by her husband, Jeffery Dale Norrington; daughter, Stephanie Downs; son, Christopher Norrington, all of Evansville, IN; brother, Edward J. Tempel (Beverly); sister-in-law, Suzie Tempel; grandchild, Amy Jo Hall; special nieces, Julie and Jenny; and by many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Michael D. Tempel; and by her sister, Ann L. Eagan.
A celebration of Judy's life will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 7, 2024 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Browning Funeral Home and again from 9:00 am until service time at the funeral home on Friday.
