Julie Marie Ward, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, returned to her Heavenly Father on February 27, 2025. She was born on June 1, 1966, in
Ogden, UT to Larry and Carolyn McKean. Julie was a radiant beam of love, compassion, and kindness who touched countless lives with her tender heart and selfless spirit. She was a woman of remarkable talent and quiet strength, whose greatest joy was in serving others and celebrating the family she cherished so deeply. Julie married her eternal companion Darren Ward on July 12, 1986 in the Logan Utah Temple, where they were sealed for time and all eternity.
Julie dedicated her life to nurturing and uplifting those around her. She spent her career as a Secretary in the Weber School District, where her patient guidance and unwavering support left an incredible mark on many. Julie was a gifted seamstress, creating beautiful works of art that were as unique and special as she was. Her creations were a testament to her patience and skill, and they will continue to be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to receive them. But it was in her pastimes that Julie found her true joy. You could always find Julie camping, attending rodeos, pig shows, and sports games cheering on her grandchildren. Regardless of struggles and how Julie was feeling, she would never miss anything for her grandchildren or children. These shared moments of joy will forever be held in the hearts of those who love her.
Julie was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving faithfully in the Young Women's, Relief Society, and Primary. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, and she lived it every day. Despite many medical challenges, Julie persevered. She lived each day to the fullest and would always say, "Just take it one step at a time".
Julie is survived by her devoted husband, Darren Ward; her loving mother, Carolyn McKean; her proud sons, Justin (Lindsay), Trevor (Tiffany), and Logan (Meggen); her cherished grandchildren, Charly, Whitt, Taylee, Hudson, Conlee, and grandson on the way; and her supportive brother, Mike (Tammy). She is preceded in death by her father, Larry McKean, her sister Jodie, and her mother and father in law, Helen and Merlin Ward.
Julie's life was a testament to the love she held for her family and the joy she found in service to others. Her memory will continue to inspire and uplift all who knew her. The family would like to thank Dr. Brian Campbell and RN Terri Cofey for the devoted years of support in helping to extend Julie's life. We invite you to leave your memories of Julie and upload photos to her memorial page as we celebrate her remarkable life and the love she shared so freely with us all.
