Karen Elizabeth Marie (Schroeder) Woodruff, 63, of Newburgh, Indiana, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025 at her home.
Karen was born in Evansville, Indiana on October 14, 1961 to the late Donald and Mary (Tempel) Schroeder. She was a 1979 graduate of Reitz High School. Karen was a member of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed keeping her home clean and tending to her flowers. Karen spent her free time sewing, embroidering, bicycling, and hiking. She loved to socialize and go out to eat with family and friends. Karen especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
Karen is survived by her husband, Michael A. Woodruff of Newburgh, IN; sons, Christopher Michael Woodruff of Newburgh, IN and Mark Anthony Woodruff (Larissa Nash) of Boonville, IN; mother, Mary (Tempel) Schroeder of Evansville, IN; mother-in-law, Edna Mae Rust; grandchildren, Myah Woodruff and Caden Alexander Woodruff; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Karen was preceded in death by her father, Donald Schroeder, brothers, Mark, Jeff, and Donald and two stillborn brothers, Michael and Steven Schroeder.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 22, 2025 at the chapel of Aperion Care Lincoln (Little Sisters), 1236 Lincoln Ave., Evansville, IN 47714 with her uncle, Father Ted Tempel celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 E. Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 and again from 10:00 am until mass time on Friday at Aperion Care Lincoln (Little Sisters).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Autism Speaks, P.O. Box 37148, Boone, IA 50037-0148.
