Karen Lynn Riley, age 73, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 15, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. A loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and loyal friend, Karen's warmth, compassion, and strength touched the lives of everyone she met.
She was born on May 31, 1952 in Oklahoma City to Harry and Maxine Meyers. She was a graduate of Northwest Classen High School in 1970 and attended the University of Oklahoma where she received her bachelor's degree in physical therapy in 1974.
Karen met the love of her life, Mike Riley, in 1978 at a Model A car show in Wichita, KS. They were married on May 18, 1979 in Oklahoma City. The United States Airforce took the couple to Kansas for a short time before relocating back to Oklahoma in 1980.
Karen dedicated her career to serving others as a physical therapist for over 40 years. Beyond her work, she found joy in antique collecting, antique depression glass, Model A/Street Rod car shows, OU athletics, dinner with her girlfriends, and most importantly her grandchildren's sporting events. She was a long-time member of Sunnylane United Methodist Church and after relocating to Moore became a member of Moore First United Methodist Church.
Above all, Karen treasured her family. She is survived by her husband Mike of 46 years. Children Kasey Riley (Sheila), Kelly Riley (Stacey) and Kerry Frazier (Kendall). Grandchildren Sailor Riley, Kade Riley, Kallyn Frazier, Reed Riley, Jordan Dean (Caty) and Addison Givens. A great granddaughter, Elliott Dean. A stepsister, Carolyn Greeson, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Maxine Meyers, Stepmother, Beulah Meyers, In laws, Everett and Doris Riley, and sister and brother-in-law, LeeAnn and Tim Smith.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18th from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Barnes-Friederich & Pope Funeral Home, 305 S Sooner Road, Midwest City, OK 73110. The family will be there to accept visitors from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Karen's life will be celebrated at Moore First United Methodist on Thursday, June 19th at 10:00 a.m. under the direction of Pastor Shyloe O'Neal. Graveside following at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
Though she may be gone from our sight, Karen's spirit will remain with us always-in the stories we share, the values and commitment she instilled, and the love she gave so freely.
