Katherine B. Kane

Katherine B. Kane, aged 90 years, passed peacefully on 5/8/2024 at the Jupiter Medical Facility, Jupiter, Fla. Katherine was predeceased by her brothers, Jack and William Quigley and a sister, Mary-Lou Long.
Katherine was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 29th, 1933 to John and Oradell Quigley. She was a graduate of Holy Name High School. Katherine married James A. Kane (deceased) on August 21st, 1953. Our beautiful Katy girl, as she was affectionately called, was a avid sports fan and her beloved Buffalo Bills were her favorite football team. A big fan of the PGA Tour, she also played golf as much as possible. Her favorite tournament was the Masters, and she never missed a stroke. Our Katy girl was friends with everyone and was beloved by all who knew her. She will be sadly missed but cherished and celebrated for the time we had with this beautiful and kind soul. She moved to Rochester, NY in 1970 and embarked on a long and rewarding career at Hahn Automotive.
Katherine and James had six children. Daughter, Patricia Mendell (Roger) deceased, of CA. Son, James P. Kane of Rochester. Daughter, Mary Smith (Michael) of Canandaigua, NY. Son, William (Lucie) of Queensbury, NY. Daughter, Elizabeth Quick (Tim) of Jupiter, Fla. Son, Robert (deceased) Jennifer of Rochester. Grandchildren, Alyssa Mendell, Bobby Mendell (deceased), Krystal Kane, Stacey Gaudio, Melissa Fogle, Michael Costanza, Meredith Ellis, Robert Kane, David Robert Matthews, Katy Matthews and Gregory Matthews, Sasha Moran, Taylor Quick, Rachael Orsini, Krysten Kane and Bobby Kane. Katherine had twelve Great Grandchildren.
Friends may call Thursday, May 23 from 4-7PM at the funeral chapel (2305 Monroe Ave., Rochester). A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, May 24, 11:15AM at Church Of The Assumption, 20 East Avenue, Rochester. Interment at White Haven Memorial Park with a reception immediately following at Shadow Lake Golf Club, 1850 Five Mile Line Rd, Penfield, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
