Kenneth A. Flewelling

Kenneth Flewelling Obituary Kenneth 'Kenny' A. Flewelling, 95, of Central Street, Topsfield, MA, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.
He was born in Manchester, NH, on August 30, 1927, son of the late George F. and Mary L. (Frazee) Flewelling.
Kenneth attended Ash Street Grammar School in Manchester, NH and later moved to Lynnfield, MA, where he attended Centre School for 7th and 8th grades (there were only thirteen students in the class). He graduated from Wakefield High School.
Kenneth was a Boy Scout and Boy Scout leader (Sea Scouts) and as a teenager was a Youth Group Leader.
He served as a Merchant Marine for two years during World War II, being honorably discharged. He earned a B.S., and M.B.A. degree from Northeastern University and a M.S., degree in Clinical Psychology from Salem State University.
He was employed as a Purchasing Agent staff member at MIT Draper Lab for 40 years. During his time at MIT, he worked on the Apollo 11 project. His work record also included greenhouse and large farm retail sales.
Ken was an officer in the Grange, Topsfield Ski Club, and various Churches in Lynnfield, Wakefield, and Topsfield.
His community service included volunteering as a psychologist at The Salvation Army helping those in need. Also, in building the Topsfield Town Beach swimming area and the ski hill.
He is survived by his children, Kevin and Matthew Flewelling, Laurie Flewelling, Amy Rotberg and husband, Les, Karen Ann Hoosick and husband, David; a sister, Marjorie Potter; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and three nieces.
Calling hours will be on Friday, March 24, 2023, from 4-7, at F.S. Roberts & Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent Street, Rowley. Memorial Service will be on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 11 a.m., at Topsfield Congregational Church, 9 East Common Street. Donations in his name may be made to The Salvation Army or Congregational Church of Topsfield.
