Laura Ann Scott Kasnowski, 64, of Whiting, New Jersey passed away Thursday, December
12, 2024 at Whiting Gardens Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Home, Whiting, New
Jersey. Laurie was born in South Amboy Hospital, NJ and grew up in Sayreville, NJ before
moving to Toms River, NJ and residing the last 5 years in Whiting, New Jersey.
Laurie graduated from Sayreville War Memorial High School in 1978, earned an associates
degree in Early Childhood Education at Brookdale Community College, and a Bachelors
Degree in Art and Elementary Education at Georgian Court College of New Jersey.
Laurie taught at multiple Nursery Schools in New Jersey before being hired as a Child Care
Quality Assurance Inspector for the Office of Licensing, Trenton NJ inspecting and licensing
Child Care Centers. After leaving the Office of Licensing she continued to work with children
as a para professional for the Toms River Public Schools system for five more years. Laurie
loved working with children to which she devoted her career. Laurie's second love was for
her arts and crafts hobbies and talent as an artist. Many of her treasures were given as
gifts to family members, friends and co-workers.
Laurie was predeceased by her mother and father, Richard (2017) and Helen Scott (2013),
her two brothers Daniel Edward Scott (2016) and Michael Stuart Scott (2023). She is
survived by her son Eric Scott Kasnowski and his wife Galina Kasnowski of Toms River NJ,
Step Daughter Michelle Brennan of Lebanon, NJ and step granddaughter Ayla Rose. She
is also survived by two sisters and two brother in law's, Jane and Lewis Minnella of Whiting,
NJ and Nancy and Eric Chin of Marlton NJ, and three brothers and five sister in law's,
James and Monika Scott of Valrico, Florida, Thomas and Frances Scott of East Brunswick,
NJ, Jeffrey and Joan Scott of East Brunswick, NJ, Jacquline Scott of Florida and Kathleen
Scott of Newtown PA, 13 nieces and nephews, Lewis, Nicholas, Michelle, Matthew, Tiffany,
Naura, Douglas, Dylan, Dana, Zachary, Brandon, Justin and Bethany, and 14 great nieces
and nephews, Olivia, Sonja, Lincoln, Eleanor, Helena, Leah, Wesley, Mackenzie, Luciano,
Ella Jane, Penelope, Evelina, Remi and Finnan.
Cremation was under the direction of Ocean County Cremation Services, 1252 NJ-37W, Toms River, New
Jersey 08755. There will be no formal service at this time.
Laura will be celebrated and remembered by her family and friends in a Memorial on her
birthday in the Spring.
