LaVerne Yvonne Lawson passed away on December 26, 2024, in Conroe, Texas. She was born to Tom and Lona Carr in New Caney, Texas on October 8, 1935. She graduated from Conroe High School in 1954. LaVerne retired April 2, 2000, after serving 32 years in the Texas City Independent School District. After moving to Conroe in 2003, she was employed on a part time basis by Mongomery County Election Central. She was there for 16 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don F. Lawson; daughter, Cindy Lawson; brother, T.J. Carr; sisters, Inez Cleveland, Dell Langdon, Marie Turner; and sisters-in-law, Marlene Carr and Patsy Lawson. Survivors include her son, Jimmy Ray Lawson and wife Jenny; granddaughter, Cyndi Nolan and husband, Kyle; grandson, Johnathan Lawson; and five beautiful great-grandchildren, Malacki, Jillian, Draydon, Aurora, and Christian. She is loved by her many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City on Friday January 3, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster.
