He was born on March 8, 1938 to the late Laverne Gettler Allgeier and Leonard Paul Allgeier.
He was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, and was a graduate of St. Xavier High School and Bellarmine College.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Judy Bottoms and June Phelps; and brothers, Jerry Allgeier and Gary Allgeier.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Carolyn Vittitow Allgeier; daughter, Dana Stich (Michael); son, Jeffrey Allgeier (Donna); grandchildren, Ashlee Cummings (Michael), Jacob Stich, and Jarrett Stich; five great grandchildren; brothers, Roddy Allgeier (Carol), Bruce Allgeier (Phyllis), Jimmy Allgeier, and Mark Allgeier (Linda); sisters, Pam Hollinden (Mark) and Karen Schmackers; many nieces and nephews.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church 2040 Buechel Bank Road with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home 3800 Bardstown Road.
