Lisa Marie Klekar, a beacon of love and joy, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024, at the age of 58. Born on March 17, 1966, to George and Mary Ann Kana, she was a cherished soul whose warmth and kindness touched all who knew her. Lisa's life was a testament to the strength and dedication she poured into every facet of her existence.
Lisa was the beloved wife of Eugene Klekar with whom she shared a love that was as deep as it was true. Together, they navigated the streams of life, creating a legacy of love and family. She was a devoted mother to her sons, Kyle and Ryan Henneke, and her son by marriage, Brian Klekar. Her daughter, Kayla Holub, was a reflection of Lisa's spirit and grace. Lisa embraced her role as a mother-in-law to Mollie Henneke, Dallas Holub, and Staci Klekar, nurturing these relationships with the same care and affection she bestowed upon her children. Her grandchildren, Hailee and Kynlee Klekar, were the lights of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Lisa's dedication to her family was mirrored in her commitment to her career in education. Her journey was marked by perseverance and passion, as she transitioned from librarian to teacher's aide before earning her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Stephen F. Austin University. Her 14-year academic odyssey was an inspiration to many, proving that it is never too late to follow one's dreams. As a teacher, Lisa extended her maternal grace to her students, becoming a supportive and loving figure in their lives as well.
Beyond her family and career, Lisa was a woman of vibrant interests and hobbies. She found solace in the rhythm of the waves at the beach and the joys of dancing in the Polka community. Lisa's love for the outdoors was evident in her enthusiasm for camping and canoeing. She was often found mowing the lawn, a task she found oddly satisfying, or building campfires that became the heart of Holiday family gatherings. A competitive spirit, Lisa was notorious for what her kids liked to call her "playful cheating" at the board game Clue.
Game shows and board games were not her only passions; Lisa cherished watching movies with her "honey," capturing memories through her love of photography and videography. Her laughter was a common sound at breweries and wineries, where she enjoyed sampling the local fare. Lisa's presence was a comfort and a joy, a spark that ignited happiness in those around her.
As a sister, Lisa shared a special bond with her brother Darren Kana, and her sister-in-law Shannon Kana. Together with their children, Landry and Collin, they formed an unbreakable circle of support and affection. Lisa's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the love of her parents, her siblings, and her extended family.
In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children... to leave the world a bit better... to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Lisa embodied this sentiment in every smile she shared, every lesson she taught, and every life she touched.
Lisa Marie Klekar's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the enduring power of education. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories and memories shared by those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit, a guiding light, will continue to inspire and comfort her family, friends, and all the lives she has graced. Though she has left this earthly realm, her luminous presence will forever be felt.

Dan Tamez........I went to LGHS with Lisa (Class of 1984) and will always remember her smile and laugh. She was always mellow and kind-hearted and always seemed to have a nice word or friendly remark for you. One day we will see each other again and definitely talk about the old times in LG. All the dances, the games and all the fun we all had growing up! RIP Lisa and save a dance for me.......

Since childhood, Lisa always had a smile, and one of the kindest hearts in this world. I will always remember her playing the piano, and me, acting as if I could sing. We had some great laughs.
Lisa your smile will never be forgotten.
May the Lord abundantly bless you, and your family. John3:16
