Lucy was born in Wichita, Kansas on September 8, 1934, the daughter of Dr. Walter and Areta Evaline (Stitt) Pennington.

She was united in marriage on June 26, 1954 to John Raymond Macek, who preceded her in death in May, 1999. Steven Francis, an infant son, also preceded her in death in 1956.

Lucy and Ray retired to Lake of the Ozarks area in 1995, and became members of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Her work with the National Shrine of Mary, Mother of Church (Mother's Wall) was one of her favorite volunteer projects, along with the restoration of the Historic St. Patrick's Church.

Lucy volunteered at Hurricane Deck Elementary School and was named Volunteer of the Year by Camdenton School District several times. She was a member of Lake of the Ozarks Yachting Association and the Women's Auxiliary of the Zack Wheat American Legion Post #624, where she organized the Troop Care Package Program for military service members deployed overseas.

Survivors include daughters, Areta Stoddart of Leawood, Kansas, Michelle (Jim) Schultz of Lee's Summit, Missouri and Laura Boudreaux of Austin, Texas; six grandchildren, Patrick Stoddart, Curtis and Nathan Schultz, and Natalie Hebert, Benjamin Boudreaux and Caroline Birdsall (and their spouses); and 3 great-grandchildren.

Lucy was great friend to my mother and our entire family. I have wonderful childhood memories of visiting her home in Overland Park and Lake of the Ozarks and enjoying the company of her daughters. Sending Love to all of her family and friends.

A beautiful obituary, Lucy baked so many cookies & treats for Max & Ruth! She also loved her scapebook projects. Of course a fellow dog lover! Thinking of you as you mourn the loss of one so dear.
Sorry we cannot attend the services.
