Margaret Ann Robinson On Saturday, December 21, 2024, Margaret Ann Robinson, 83, passed away peacefully after a 10-year struggle with Parkinson's disease. She leaves behind her loving husband of 63 years, Timothy E. Robinson, Sr. Despite the challenges, she faced each day with courage and strength, leaving behind a lasting impact on her family and those who knew her.
Margaret was born in Hyannis, the daughter of Everett and Marie Irene (Biron) Bumpus. She spent much of her childhood in Southbridge and Fiskdale, places she held close to her heart. A proud veteran, Margaret served in the United States Air Force, where her dedication and strength were evident to all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her sister, Phyllis Bellrose of Palmer; her brother, George Allan Bumpus of Sturbridge; and her sister and soulmate, Edith Beaudry-Corriveau-Normandin of Sturbridge. She is survived by her brother, Everett Bumpus of Charlton, and her sister, Janet Arns of Southbridge.
Margaret was the loving mother of three sons: Timothy Robinson II and his wife Christine Robinson of Fiskdale, MA; Keith Robinson and his partner Ali Cleveland of Stafford Springs, CT; and Thomas Robinson and his husband Brian Moore of Harvard, MA. She was the proud grandmother of six, great-grandmother of eight, and aunt to many nephews and nieces.
Margaret earned her degree in accounting from Becker College and was known for her sharp mind and financial expertise, which she applied throughout her career. She worked as the office manager for CPC in Sturbridge for many years, later completing her career alongside her sister, Edie, in the office of Yogi Bear Campground.
A dedicated member of the Sturbridge Federated Church, Margaret served on various committees, contributing her time and talents to the community.
In 1989, Margaret discovered a love for golf, becoming a competitive member of Hemlock Ridge Golf Course for 35 years. She and her husband enjoyed countless rounds together, traveling up and down the East Coast, with Myrtle Beach being a favorite destination. Margaret drew great strength and joy in her large family, cherishing Sunday visits with Gram, vacationing with her siblings, and hosting summer pool parties for extended relatives. She shared an especially close bond with her five siblings.
A talented basketball player in high school, she carried her love for sports and competition into adulthood through bowling and golf. However, it was at the card table where Margaret truly shone. Nearly unbeatable at Pitch, she seemed to know the cards in your hand as well as her own. Her sharp instincts and the legendary snap of the final trump card—delivered with a triumphant grin—became cherished family lore.
