Marilyn Louise Collins

Marilyn Louise Collins, age 80, of Lapeer, passed away on August 17, 2025, in the comforts of her home. She was born on March 20, 1945, in Detroit, MI.

We lost our mom Marilyn Collins three weeks and a day after losing our dad Bobby Collins. She fought a long battle with Alzheimer's and is now finally together again with him. They were so devoted to each other and were the true notebook couple. I couldn't imagine one without the other. She was an amazing mom, grandmother, great grandmother. She loved to sew, crochet and read. She would make all her grandkids clothes as small children. She made/smocked the most beautiful christening gowns for the grandbabies. She made my sisters wedding dress. She did beautiful work. She loved hard, deeply till her last breath. She would still try to love on and engage with the great grandbabies up till the last day of her life. She worked at Volkswagen as a purchasing secretary till she retired and then did some work doing data entry for many years. She had sharp wit, could come up with some zinger one liners at my dad or the boys. She was our protector as children, don't EVER cross her as a mama bear. Her favorite place in the world is our cottage in Canada on the beach. We will toast her at the sunsets as we watch the sun go down. She was truly amazing and we will miss her every single day. We love you Momma, give Daddy a big hug and kiss from all of us.

Marilyn is survived by her daughters Lori (Harold) Booth of Lapeer and Kristin (Keith) Czerwinski of Romeo; grandchildren Kyle (Melissa) Kratz, Nathan (Lottie) Kratz, Emily (Tyler) Boose, Taylor (Elizabeth) Kratz,Spencer Kratz, Bailey Czerwinski, Jase Czerwinski and Jessica Czerwinski; great-grandchildren Damien Fultz, Elaina Thompson, Leilah Kratz, Mabel Kratz,Jane Kratz, Isabella Devito, Elsie Kratz, Dante Czerwinski, Kaylee Czerwinski,and Cortueze Elliot Jr.; brother Bruce Webb; brothers-in-law Ralph Collins and Freddy Collins; sisters-in-law Charlotte (Bobby) Strader and Debra Jo Moore; niece Jessica Gall; nephews Shawn Webb, Scott Webb, and Clark Webb; and close cousin Carolyn Payne.

Marilyn was preceded in death by just three weeks and a day by her beloved husband of 61 years, Bobby Collins; her parents Leonard and Mabel Webb; brother Warner Webb, grandsons Justin and Jason Czerwinski.

A celebration of life will occur at the American Legion Post 16 in Lapeer, from 12 p.m.- 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 6th, 2025. Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer. Mr. and Mrs. Collins will be inurned at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date.
