Marlene passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at the Toni & Trish House at the age of 83. The daughter of the late William and Irene (Leppien) Arndt was born November 3, 1941 in Linwood, Michigan. Marlene was a member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church and enjoyed playing softball and watching the Detroit Tigers, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Marlene is survived by her son, Brent (Marciel) Maurer; daughter, Katrina (Matt) Salgat; five grandchildren, Jacob and Olivia Maurer and Amanda, Benjamin and William Salgat; two sisters, Ruth Ann Williamson and Sharon (Bill) Short; two brothers-in-law, Jake Foor and Lee Davis and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Norman J. Maurer; two sisters, Iva Foor and Wilma Davis and her brother-in-law, Herschel Williamson.
Funeral and Committal service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 31, 2025 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Pastor Paul Schaewe with private internment following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Monday, March 31, 2025 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church or the Toni & Trish House.
