Mathew W. Silva, of East Falmouth, passed away peacefully and comfortably at home on April 11, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was 73 years old. His passing followed a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer.
Mathew was born and raised in Falmouth and was a life-long Falmouth resident. He graduated from Lawrence High School and went on to join the United States Army 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment and proudly served in Vietnam. In addition to being a proud Vietnam Veteran, he owned and operated his own painting business in Falmouth for the past 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, boating, caring for his lawn, working in his garage on his prized 1978 Ford truck, spending time with his family, and his daily morning routine of meeting his friends at the local coffee shop.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Deborah Silva, who was dedicated to being by his side through all endeavors, and by his children, Christopher Silva and wife Pamela of Buzzards Bay MA, Katherine Klein of New Bedford MA, Brittany (Silva) Carlson and husband Cody of Bow NH, and Brandon Silva and partner Rheachel Keith of Falmouth MA. He is also survived by his nieces Nina Wood and husband Phil, and Belinda Fisher of Fairplay, SC, as well as several grandchildren and great nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Casmeiro and Maria DaSilva of Falmouth MA.
Services will be private.
