Matthew Scott Reo, formally of Toms River, NJ and Blairsville, GA died unexpectedly of natural causes in Florida on December 19, 2024. He was 56 years old.
Matthew was born on September 12, 1968 at a Military Base Hospital at Ft. Benning, GA but spent all of his childhood & educational years in Toms River NJ where he graduated from Toms River High School East. Following graduation he successfully attended University of South Florida and ultimately settled in Palm Beach County Florida where he started what would become a lifetime career in the insurance industry working for several companies. During all these years Matthew developed a relationship with many friends and constantly stayed in contact with everyone including relatives and cousins. He was an avid boater and sun worshipper and loved his time in Florida. Matthew was known for his fun loving, caring and easy going nature with friends going back to high school.
Matthew is survived by his caring and devoted sister Jessica (from Philadelphia) and his parents Elaine & Peter (of Blairsville GA), many cousins and long time friends.
A private service will be held in Florida with a memorial to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers or cards we ask people to pray for Matthews soul with the hope that God will grant him the peace and happiness he could not find in this world.
