Meg Ann Robertson Shepherd (66) of South Jordan, Utah returned to heaven and was reunited with her sweetheart on February 26, 2025 after a long battle with myotonic dystrophy.
Meg was born on January 11, 1959 in St. Louis, Missouri and grew up in Idaho and Utah. She graduated from Spanish Fork High School and attended Ricks College and BYU. She married Mark McKean Shepherd on August 31, 1979 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was very involved with her family and loved spending time with them. Meg enjoyed traveling, reading, watching sports, attending BYU football games, and going to the cabin. She found fulfillment through serving in her church callings and in the Jordan River Temple. Despite her physical limitations, she was always up for an adventure.
Meg's quiet and unexpected sense of humor, thoughtfulness, creativity, patience, and perseverance will be remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children and 16 grandchildren: Christy (Matt) Lively, Scott Shepherd, Laurie (John) Lawton, Nathan (Jessica) Shepherd, Allison (Jacob) Stevens, and Kyle (Shannon) Shepherd. She is also survived by her siblings: Mark Robertson, Gaile Halladay, Claire Chance, and Amy Dayton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Shepherd, and parents, Yvonne Drake Brady and Russell Clark Robertson.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 11 am in the chapel at 1239 W Country Creek Drive in South Jordan. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 10-10:45 am at the church building as well as on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary (1007 W South Jordan Parkway). Interment will be at the South Jordan City Memorial Park.
We would like to thank Meg's friends and neighbors from the River 4th ward, her many aides, especially those who became dear friends, and Claire and Jeff Chance for their love and service to Meg over the past several years.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation at www.myotonic.org.

Meg was the first one to come to our home and greet us when we moved into the neighborhood in 1998. Meg really cared about others. I am sure Mark is glad they are back together again. She will be missed.
